Oculus tell the story of the destruction of an idyllic suburban family - Alan and Marie Russell, their 13-year-old daughter Kaylie, 10-year-old son Tim, and their dog Mason - through the lens of the horror genre. Shortly after the family settles into their new house, malevolent powers are released from an antique mirror. As the source of evil's sphere of influence grows, it devastates the household by twisting and breaking family bonds, and distorting the edges of reality. Dominions take siege of the parents, leaving the children with no one to turn to but each other to battle the evil that has taken over their home. A battle that leads to one night of horrific events that leaves the children orphans and young Tim charged with the murders. Now Tim has been released from the St. Aidan's Mental Facility. He reluctantly returns to his childhood home with a persistent Kaylie to finish the battle that started ten years ago and to fulfill the childhood promise they made to each other - "One day when we're big, and we are strong, we'll make this right. We'll kill that thing - for mommy and daddy."
