Men and women imagine a life for themselves, they fight to construct it as best they can. And often their fate is turned upside down by a simple meeting. Julie, who has just come out of a complicated love affair, is happy to go away to Portugal to make an austere feature film in which she plays a nun. In the evenings, she encounters strangers who feed her experience. One night, she notices a nun alone in a chapel, and she goes to speak to her.


