Buring was born September 22, 1979, in Sweden, as Anna Margaretha My Buring Rantapää, but grew up in the Middle East. When she turned 16, she moved to England. She attended high school at the American British Academy in Muscat, Oman, with her childhood friend Stegath Dorr, who is a character actor and a prolific horror filmmaker. Buring graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 2004. She is also the associate director of the MahWaff Theatre Company.
The television and film actress is perhaps best known for her role as Sam in "The Descent" (2005) and "The Descent Part 2" (2009).
In 2010 she joined the cast of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Bawn" part one and part two. In the films she will play the character Tanya Denal.
In 2011 Buring appeared in the horror film Kill List, in which she acted the part of the protagonist's wife.
