13  |  : 19/02/2013 The third and final season of Body of Proof, an American television series created by Christopher Murphey, aired in the United States from February 19, 2013 to May 28, 2013 and consisted of 13 episodes. It follows the life and career of Dr. Megan Hunt, a medical examiner, once a neurosurgeon, who now works in Philadelphia's Medical Examiner's office after a car accident ended her neurosurgery career. On May 10, 2013, ABC canceled Body of Proof after three seasons. Immediately after the cancellation news, there were reports that the series might be picked up by a cable television network, with TNT, USA Network and WGN America all showing interest. On May 23, however, a rep for ABC Studios confirmed that Body of Proof would not move to a new network. Dana Delany confirmed that the May 28, 2013 season finale would also be the series finale with a Tweet: "Thank you to all who campaigned for #BodyOfProof4. 3rd most watched drama @abcnetwork thanks to you. I will miss Dr. Megan Hunt & Co. RIP." 3

When Megan and Tommy interview a young patient named Darby, who seems extremely sane and lucid, she tells them that she saw the killer climb down from a heating vent in the ceiling, but most shocking of all -- he meant to kill her, not the actual victim. Could the killer be Dr. Malcolm, the ward director, who is obstructing their investigation.

When a plane crashes in Philadelphia due to a gunman opening fire while aloft, the entire team of Megan, Kate, Tommy, Adam, Curtis, Ethan, Riley and Stafford must go into disaster mode. Since the crash hits the city's main power grid, Megan must conduct autopsies on the victims during frequent blackouts, but then one of the bodies goes missing. Meanwhile, Tommy and Riley are in a serious car accident while trying to investigate.

Soon another man turns up dead - who's revealed to be a witness in the escaped prisoner's murder trial. Along with Hunt solving homicide cases are her colleagues, Nicholas Bishop as Peter Dunlop, Jeri Ryan as Dr. Kate Murphy, John Carroll Lynch and Sonja Sohn as Detective's Bud Morris and Samantha Baker and fellow medical examiners, Geoffrey Arend as Dr. Ethan Gross and Windell Middlebrooks as Dr. Curtis Brumfield. Mary Mouser who plays Megan's daughter Lacey was promoted to "regular" from "recurring" status from season 1. The episode was directed by Nelson McCormick and written by series creator Christopher Murphey. "Pilot" introduces the lead character of Megan Hunt, a former neurosurgeon turned medical examiner, portrayed by Dana Delany. In the episode, a female jogger is found dead in Schuylkill River and Megan teams up with medical investigator Peter Dunlop to investigate her whereabouts before her murder. Meanwhile, Megan spends the day trying to solve a personal problem concerning her daughter's birthday. "Pilot" was filmed in Providence, Rhode Island during April 2010. The episode achieved 13.942 million viewers upon its first broadcast in the United States, making it the second most watched series premiere of the 2010–11 television season. It also gave UK crime channel Alibi their biggest ever television audience. "Pilot" received mixed reviews from critics, who thought the show seemed bland. However, most critics praised Delany and the supporting cast's performances.
